Just a fun shoot while waiting for the bus (29 north) at Dufferin subway station. This was in a back ally beside the station.
Caught sight of Paul Mariner, head coach of Toronto FC (TFC), this morning on my way to work. He was checking his smart phone one last time before head down to catch the subway at St. Andrews Station at King and University. My guess is that he’s heading off on a weekend road trip with the team. Cannot recall where TFC is playing this weekend, but I know its not here in Toronto.
They were handing out free FAXE beer after the Toronto FC game tonight. Who is going to say no to FREE beer? Not I!!! Now since I have never tasted FAXE beer before I can’t say if its a good pickup or not. At least TFC won tonight! Time to head home!
After 90 minutes (plus 4 minutes of extra time) Toronto FC comes out on top winning 3 – 2. A last minute goal by Terry Dunfield in extra time gave the home side something to really get excited about. Particularly when it was only their 3rd win of the season (after 17 games). As a TFC supporter you can only think positively about going forward. Playoffs maybe out of the question but there is still lots of time to cause some trouble around the league.
A beautiful Wednesday evening! Ready to watch the boys in red take on Vancouver. First we must warm up. Come on you REDS!!!!
Before we hit the road back to Toronto, we had to intake on last breakfast at Broadway. This location is also in Orleans. Go figure, Orleans has 2 locations and Toronto has 0.
With it being the bicentennial of the war of 1812 we have been seeing/hearing a lot of this sort of advertising. Living near Fort York in Toronto we can’t get away from it.
We earlier had a great view of the Ottawa locks for from Rideau Street. Now we have a view from down below, alongside the locks. At this point there are some boat making their way up the locks system from the Ottawa River up to the Rideau Canal. Its appears to be a long process.
These are the gear system that is manually used to open and close each lock. It takes to individuals on each side (appears to be a great summer student gig) to get the job done.
And here is a couple of guys hard at work.
A closeup shot of the ‘Peace Tower’ on Parliament Hill.
No trip to Ottawa is complete without a visit to Parliament hill. Being the week after the Canada Day long weekend the grass was looking a little rough but still a great view.
Across the street (Rideau street / Wellington street) you will find a statue of Terry Fox. Still one of the greatest Canadians to walk or run the grounds of this country.
